Editing Pages
The Interface
Once you have decided to create a new page or to edit an existing one, a form with a textarea shows up. The textarea is either empty (for new pages) or filled with the current contents of the existing page.
Use your keyboard's cursor keys to navigate the textarea. Making use of your mouse along with your operating system's capabilities to copy, cut and paste chunks of text might simplify editing even more.
You are encourage to enter a comment along with each version of a page you edit as well as a title that specifies the content. If you work on a page whose latest version was also edited by you, you are free to decide whether or not to tick the Create new version option below the text area. Ticking it creates a new distinctive version of the page and leaves the old version untouched. To simply correct some spelling mistakes you will probably refrain from creating a new version, but rather overwrite the existing one by leaving the field unticked. If the latest version was edited by another user, Pie will always create a new version of the page.
If you would like to cancel editing (or creating) a page whose contents you just opened in the page editor, make sure to click Cancel instead of just rushing on. By starting editing, you implicitely set a lock to the respective page that keeps it from being accessible by other users. Clicking Cancel removes this lock and marks the page as being available for others again.
Notes
You might want to look at the source code of other pages to become familiar with the use of how to use commands and format your text.
Pie's various options to format text slightly differs from the syntax used by other Wikis. You should take this into account when moving in from other implementations and start editing your texts with Pie.
